A single figure fills the upper two thirds of the sheet, the head worked in magenta, violet and gray against a dense black ground, the features broken into planes with the eyes set at different levels and the mouth carried across in a run of white and red strokes. Below the head the body dissolves into broad sweeps of gray, white and green laid on with a loaded brush, a small red dot burning at the center of the chest, and the black field behind is edged in brown that runs to the margins of the sheet. The lettering is set beneath the image, RATTNER in heavy red capitals above the gallery name, the address at 36 Avenue Matignon, and the dates of the exhibition, with the printer's line at the foot.
The poster was printed by Mourlot of Paris for an exhibition at the Galerie Coard running from 2 to 21 February 1965.
