The broadside is headed from the office of the Great Western Horse Ins. & Dectective Co. of Decatur, Illinois, the company name spelled as printed, offering a $25 reward above the large cut of mounted riders in pursuit and the bold cry STOP THIEF! The text reports one mare and two mules strayed or stolen, and a further mare stolen heavy with foal, taken from George N. Myers of Friends Creek, Macon County, Illinois on Tuesday, April 16, 1866, with the animals described down to a sorrel mare of about seven years and fifteen hands. The sheet is toned with scattered foxing and staining, small edge losses, and old folds.
