Antique Navajo Ingot Silver Cushion Turquoise Ring

$550.00

Navajo

1910

Ingot silver and turquoise

Ring size 5 1/2

Provenance: Found at the Brimfield Flea Market

A cushion shaped cabochon of pale green turquoise, marked with brown matrix and small dark inclusions, is set in a plain hand raised bezel at the center of the ring. The bezel is worked from ingot silver, its outline slightly irregular in the manner of early hand wrought work, and the shank splits into narrow bands at the shoulders. A fracture line runs across the lower part of the stone, with scuffing across its surface, and the silver shows a soft aged patina. In a US size 5 1/2 it is a moderate ring of early construction.
