Ingot silver and turquoise

A tapered rectangular cabochon of green turquoise, veined with brown matrix and marked by a dark inclusion at the center, is set in a plain bezel at the center of the ring. The bezel is framed by a scalloped ingot silver surround, each lobe worked with a stamped concentric circle, and the shank splits into narrow bands at the shoulders. The silver is hand raised, its outline slightly irregular in the manner of early work, and carries a soft aged patina with light scuffing at the lower edge. In a US size 7 1/4 it is a moderate ring of early construction.
