These antique Sioux child's moccasins are fully beaded in a dense geometric design incorporating turquoise blue, gold, green, white, and dark red glass beads, with a bold border pattern framing the vamp and sides. The scale and beadwork coverage are consistent with late 19th and early 20th-century Sioux beadwork traditions, in which fully beaded moccasins were produced for both ceremonial use and as expressions of craft skill and cultural identity. The New York private collection provenance suggests long-held collector ownership typical of Plains beadwork that entered the Eastern market in the early 20th century.
