The round tin sign is lettered BARTELS BEER in cream around a deep blue ground, with the brewery's interlocked monogram filling the center and a hop cone sprig at either side. The lithographed surface is bright with the lettering sharp, showing scattered small chips and scratches, a patch of surface wear at the upper left of the monogram, and light edge wear. A fitting on the reverse serves for hanging.
