The vessel has a large, rounded globular body with a small cylindrical spout set off to one side of the shoulder rather than centered at the top. The upper portion of the body is painted with a dark brown crosshatched grid pattern against a cream ground. Below this, triangular panels contain painted wavy and zigzag line patterns.
A small square framed panel on one side of the vessel contains a modeled animal figure applied in relief, resembling a small lizard or amphibian. Beside this panel, a twisted, rope like coil of clay is applied to the surface as a raised handle or decorative element. The surface throughout shows scattered wear and surface staining consistent with age.
