This Chimu blackware stirrup vessel has a globular body rising from a flared foot ring, with a single strap handle connecting the body to a tall cylindrical neck. A modeled deity figure in high relief is applied to the front of the vessel, with a fanged mask face, headdress with serrated elements, and outstretched arms with incised feather or textile details visible on the shoulders and chest. The surface is burnished to the characteristic Chimu black, developed through reduction firing, and retains consistent color throughout with light surface wear.
