This large polychrome ceramic plate is painted in orange slip with a bold feathered serpent head rendered in dark brown outline at the center, its curling plumes and scrolling body elements filling the interior field in a fluid, confident composition. A broad dark band punctuated by irregular dark patches encircles the central motif, and a secondary band of fine geometric patterning runs at the rim. The orange ground retains strong color throughout, and the plate carries published and exhibition history as catalogue number 39 in the 1984 exhibition Sombras de la Gente at the Riverside Municipal Museum.
