The dog sits upright with the forelegs straight and set close together, the chest drawn in and the neck extended so that the head lifts and tilts back. The mouth is open on a narrow row of small teeth, and short incised whiskers mark the muzzle beneath a lightly incised brow. The ears are exceptionally long, drawn to a point and held wide, and the tail curls forward around the outside of the haunch to rest along the base.
The slip is a deep brick red, burnished to a high sheen that pools across the shoulder, back, and rear leg. A patch of grey brown mineral deposit sits on the near shoulder with a scatter of small dark specks below it, and further speckling appears across the flank and hindquarters. Light abrasion runs along the ear tips, the muzzle, and the toes, and the surface elsewhere is smooth and well preserved.
