$4,700.00

Europe

19th century

Electrotype copies, in original period frame

18 × 21 in. (45.7 × 53.3 cm) framed

Provenance: Alistair McAlpine, Baron McAlpine of West Green, London

This second framed set of electrotype copies of ancient Greek coins by Dr. George Tate presents a selection of Greek numismatic types on a dark velvet ground in a period wood frame, the electrotype process reproducing the relief and detail of the originals for scholarly and display purposes.
