A Rainbow Man pendant worked in channel inlay, the arcing body built from squared segments of turquoise, coral, mother of pearl and pink shell divided by silver channels, fringed along its outer edge with a radiating fan of tapered jet rays and set with a beaded silver band along the inner curve, the figure's head and torso inlaid at the lower left below the arc. The Rainbow Man is one of the enduring subjects of Zuni inlay, where the deity's body is drawn as the rainbow itself and the segmented colour bands do the work that a painted arc would do elsewhere, which is why the motif suits the technique so exactly. Both names are engraved on the plain silver reverse together with ZUNI, a joint signature of the kind Zuni inlay partnerships use when the silverwork and the inlay are divided between two hands.
