This small stone pendant in the form of a parrot dates to the Hohokam culture, circa 1300 AD. The rounded head and drilled eye are clearly rendered, and the dark stone has developed a deep patina consistent with age. Suspension holes indicate use as a pendant. Not found on federal or state land.
