The buckle is worked in overlay, with a large spiral unwinding across the face against a darkened and textured recessed ground, met at the left by a stepped terrace form and edged along one side by a sawtooth band. Small punched dots are scattered above the spiral, and the upper silver layer is left plain and bright so the cut design reads sharply against the oxidized field beneath. It is mounted on a black leather belt with silver studs.
