Turquoise and quartz
Length 22 inches
Provenance: Private Collection, Honolulu, Hawaii; William Siegal Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico, April 15, 2015
The necklace is strung with alternating cylindrical beads of clear to milky white quartz and rounded turquoise beads in varying shades of green. The beads are arranged in a regular repeating pattern along most of the strand. Three larger turquoise beads are set together at the lowest point of the necklace, forming a central focal cluster.
The quartz beads are translucent with a smooth, polished surface, while the turquoise beads display natural veining and mottling typical of the stone. The necklace closes with a small metal hook clasp at the back. All beads appear original to the strand, with consistent wear and coloring throughout.
