This is a typed letter signed by Jack London on his Glen Ellen letterhead, dated in a February 15, 1911 receipt stamp and addressed to the Hawaii photographer R. J. Baker. London thanks Baker for photographs, calls them beauties, and declines them for illustration because he is not doing any Hawaiian work at the time. He then writes that he and Mrs. London plan to call at Baker's studio near Eureka that summer during a long driving trip up the coast into Oregon and across into Nevada, closing with his ink signature.
Mounted above the letter is an original Baker photograph of London seated in a rocking chair in a light suit. The letter and photograph are matted and framed together to 12.5 by 17 inches, the letter paper toned with staining across the sheet. The signature and typed text are legible throughout.
