This souvenir spoon by Dawkins and Benny of Honolulu features a cast figure of Kamehameha I as the handle terminal, shown in full regalia with feathered cloak and spear, above a reeded shaft. The bowl carries a blue enamel roundel with the Hawaiian royal coat of arms and the motto "Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ʻĀina i ka Pono." Dawkins and Benny were among the principal Honolulu silversmiths producing Hawaiian souvenir silver around the turn of the 20th century, and their Kamehameha spoons are among the more documented forms of Hawaiian commemorative silverware from the territorial period.
