The eagle stands on a cactus and grasps a serpent, the emblem of the Mexican coat of arms, and is flanked by engraved foliate scrolls across the silver ground. Gold toned cross shaped elements are set into the left and right edges, and a stamped border runs around the outer frame. The silver has darkened in the recesses to set off the brighter raised eagle and crosses. The reverse is stamped with the Plata de Jalisco hallmark, 925, V.H.L.C., and Guadalajara Mexico, along with the Mexican eagle assay mark numbered 50, and retains its hook and bar hardware for a belt.
