A large rectangular cabochon of green turquoise, mottled throughout with dark teal and black matrix, fills the face of the ring in a plain silver bezel. Rows of stamped scallops run down both flanks of the setting, each cut deep and left raised so the sides read as ridged columns against the flat stone. The bezel wall is split at the top edge where it meets the rim, and the silver carries a dark aged patina in the recesses. Measuring 1 by 7/8 inches (2.5 by 2.2 cm) in a US size 7 1/2, it is a wide, heavy faced ring made for wear.
