The buckle is a rectangular silver plate with rounded corners, edged on all sides with a stamped scallop and sawtooth border. An eagle in gilt metal is applied to the left of the face with the wings spread and lifted and the talons gripping a rock, worked in relief with individually modeled feathers. To the right sits a large turquoise cabochon in a strong blue with heavy brown and rust matrix, set in a plain bezel within a stamped surround.
