Navajo

Sterling silver and Cerrillos turquoise
Size 10
15.28 grams
Provenance: John Levin, Philadelphia
A large oval cabochon of Cerrillos turquoise, bright blue with brown and tan matrix breaking across the surface, is set upright in a plain silver bezel at the center of the ring. A heavy twisted silver rope frames the setting, with stamped and beaded silverwork carrying down to the shoulders. A fracture runs through the lower right of the stone and the matrix pits the surface in places, with a soft aged patina across the silver. At 15.28 grams in a US size 10, it is a tall, oval faced ring made for wear.
