The buckle is a rectangular silver plate set at the center with a large round chrysocolla cabochon in a deep blue green, held in a plain bezel and ringed by a border of applied silver beads. Six pictorial stamps are placed around the stone at the corners and sides, alternating thunderbird, horse, and cross in square motifs, each struck cleanly into the plate. The stone was mined at Globe, Arizona, and its surface is even in tone and free of visible matrix.
