The belt carries eight scalloped conchos alternating with butterfly spacers on a black leather strap, each concho worked in repoussé with a raised domed center ringed by radiating lobes and framed by twisted wire and stamped borders. Small turquoise stones are set at the center of the butterflies and at the heart of several conchos, and the rectangular buckle carries a raised dome flanked by two rectangular turquoise stones within a stamped and roped frame. At 576 grams the belt is among the heaviest of its kind, and the leather is worn dark with age.
