A rectangular cabochon of silver matrix, dark with pale silver-white and brown veining, is set in a plain raised bezel at the center of a wide sterling band. The band is flat and undecorated apart from the bezel, and the piece is signed. The silver carries a dark oxidized surface, with tarnish and light wear across the bezel and shank. In a US size 10 1/2 at 26.10 grams, it is a wide, solid ring made for wear.
Danny Jackson is a Navajo silversmith from Chinle, Arizona, who comes from a family of silversmiths going back to the 1800s. He began making plain silver rings as a child, working alongside his family, and set out on his own in 1994. His brothers, Tommy and Gene Jackson, are also silversmiths.
