This early Navajo cuff is built from a band of filed silver rods, their fine parallel lines running the length of the bracelet. At the center, a round silver rosette is worked with radiating filework like a sunburst, holding a single teardrop turquoise, green with light matrix, in a plain bezel. The precise, hand cut file lines across both the band and the rosette are the defining feature of the piece.
The rosette sits raised above the ribbed band, giving the cuff a strong central focus. At just over 44 grams the bracelet has a solid early feel, the darkened lines of the filework set off against the brighter high points. The detailed file work and hand wrought band point to early Navajo silversmithing.
