The pin is formed as an oval concho worked in repoussé, with a raised radiating pattern of tapered lobes rising from a stamped diamond at the center. The border is scalloped and edged with rows of chisel stamping in triangular and dot motifs, and the raised surfaces have been polished bright against the darkened recesses. At just over thirty grams the pin is substantially made from heavy gauge silver, with a hinged pin stem and catch on the reverse.
