A round cabochon of blue turquoise, marked with fine gold-brown matrix, is set in a twisted silver rope bezel at the center of a broad shield-shaped silver plaque. The plaque is finished with applied scrollwork and round silver beads above and below the setting, the recessed ground oxidized to set off the stone. The setting sits high on a tapering shank, and the silver shows a soft aged patina. In a US size 11 at 15.94 grams, and measuring 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) long, it is a wide, substantial ring made for wear.
