A cluster pin set with a central turquoise nugget encircled by eight smaller stones, all showing heavy black spiderweb matrix over a blue to blue green ground. The stones are natural nugget cuts held in plain bezels, their irregular shapes fitted closely into a domed silver cluster. Applied silver raindrops ring the border between the settings, and the recessed silver carries a darkened patina consistent with age.
Larry Frank was a Taos collector and scholar, co-author of Indian Silver Jewelry of the Southwest 1868 to 1930 and New Kingdom of the Saints.
