Silver and coral
Length 26 inches (66 cm)
Provenance: Private collection, Santa Fe, New Mexico
The necklace is strung with round silver beads, each seamed around the middle, graduating a little toward the front and separated into groups by the blossom units hung between them. Each blossom is built as a shaped silver plate with a scalloped and stamped border enclosing an elongated branch coral set in a twisted wire bezel, with a pair of slender silver petals projecting from the shoulders of the plate and a further petal below. The coral runs from a deep brick red to a lighter orange with the natural pitting and grain of the branch left visible, so no two settings read quite alike.
