The buckle is a heavy silver frame with an open rectangular center, the face rising to angled ridges that run diagonally from the corners and give the piece a raised, faceted profile. Four oval turquoise cabochons in blue with brown and rust matrix are set in plain bezels, two to each side of the opening. The borders are worked with rows of leaf and dot stamping along the raised edges and with punched dots following the scalloped outer rim, and at nearly one hundred grams the buckle is substantially made.
