A square sterling silver pin centering a sunface medallion, its turquoise ground crossed by black bars and marked with a single black dot to read as brow, eyes, and mouth. Radiating petals of turquoise, orange, and white shell fill the surrounding field, each stone seated in its own silver channel and separated by fine silver lines. The frame is finished with stamped silver bosses at the four corners and a scalloped, filed border, and the piece is signed on the reverse.
Jay Boyd is a Navajo (Diné) silversmith and lapidarist known for multi stone channel and mosaic inlay, with a hallmark recorded in Southwest jewelry references. His documented output includes collaborative work with fellow Navajo silversmith Ervin Hoskie.
