This rectangular overlay buckle is worked in sterling silver with a cut through design set against a darkened recessed ground. Four leaf shaped forms radiate from the center, each carrying a row of stamped dots along its length, with a stepped arrow motif set into the silver at each side. At the middle sits an oval turquoise with a light blue surface and scattered darker matrix. The raised silver has softened to a warm toned patina across the face, with deeper darkening in the recesses. The reverse is stamped with the maker hallmark EMT in a fish shaped oval above the word sterling and retains its belt hardware.
