Navajo silversmiths of the 1930s combined set turquoise with hand worked silver ornament, and this cuff carries three stones with an oval at the center between two rectangular stones. Each stone sits in a plain bezel, bordered below by stamped silver buttons, while applied wire scrolls and a small silver bead finish the sides. The turquoise shows blue to green tones with natural brown matrix, well matched across the three stones.
The shanks split into twisted and stamped bands that carry the eye from the stones down to the terminals. The scrollwork at each shoulder is applied rather than cast, a labor intensive detail that dates the piece to earlier Navajo production. At 8 inches with a 1 1/8 inch gap, the cuff suits a medium wrist and adjusts through its open back.
