Sterling silver and turquoise
Total circumference 7 1/2 in (19.1 cm), gap 1 1/8 in (2.9 cm), width 1 in (2.5 cm); 64.47 grams
Provenance: Private collection, Albuquerque, NM
This Navajo cuff sets three turquoise stones across the front, a large rounded rectangular stone at the center between two smaller ovals. Each stone sits in a twisted rope bezel, ringed by round silver drop beads that fill the spaces between and around the settings. The turquoise runs from blue to green with fine dark matrix, and the three stones are matched closely in tone.
The shoulders are stamped with radiating fan motifs that carry the design out from the stones toward the split shanks. At just under 65 grams across a 1 inch width, the cuff has substantial weight and presence on the wrist. The 7 1/2 inch circumference with a 1 1/8 inch gap suits a medium wrist and adjusts through the open back.
