Sterling silver and turquoise
Circumference 8 1/4 inches (21 cm), gap 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), width 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm)
63.92 grams
Provenance: Private collection, Lancaster, Pennsylvania
The face of the cuff carries a dense cluster of turquoise nuggets, each cut freeform and set in its own serrated bezel that follows the outline of the stone rather than forcing it into a shape, so the stones lock against one another across the whole width. The turquoise runs bright sky blue through to a deeper blue, veined and blotched with black and gray matrix that varies from stone to stone, and small silver drops are set into the spaces between the bezels wherever the stones leave a gap. The cluster is bounded top and bottom by a rope of twisted wire, and beyond it the shoulders of the cuff are stamped with a band of long leaf forms running out to the terminals.
