Navajo
1950s
Sterling silver and turquoise
Ring size 7
7.27 grams
Provenance: Private collection, Austin, TX
Six teardrop turquoise cabochons are set around the face of the ring with their points turned inward, radiating from a single domed silver bead at the center. Each stone sits in a plain bezel within a raised silver frame, and small silver beads fill the outer spaces between the petals. The stones run from pale blue to deeper green, several marked with fine dark matrix, so the ring reads as a flower worked in mismatched colour. At 7.27 grams in a US size 7, it is a moderate ring made for wear.
