Sterling silver and turquoise
Size 9
7.10 grams
Provenance: Private collection, Montana
An elongated oval cabochon of green-blue turquoise, softly mottled with darker flecks, is set upright in a plain silver bezel that follows the outline of the stone. A twisted silver rope frames the bezel, and beyond it a raised outer border is stamped with sunburst fans at the top, base and sides, the recesses oxidized dark against the polished silver. The setting is built high and fills the face of the ring, tapering to a plain shank. At 7.10 grams in a US size 9, it is a tall, ornate ring made for wear.
