$750.00

Navajo

Southwest

1980s

Sterling silver and turquoise

Total circumference 8 in (20.3 cm), gap 1 1/8 in (2.9 cm), width 1/2 in (1.3 cm); 99.95 grams

Provenance: Private collection, Las Cruces, NM

This Navajo cuff centers a single round blue turquoise stone in a serrated bezel, flanked by two silver beads at the midpoint of the band. The band itself is built from a dense panel of braided twisted wire set between plain silver borders, giving the cuff a woven texture across its full length. At just under 100 grams over a 1/2 inch width, the piece is remarkably heavy for its size, with the weight carried entirely in the woven silver construction typical of solid Navajo work of the 1980s.
