The pair consists of two seated figures, each resting on a two legged stool with the legs extended forward. Both wear tall, striped headdresses with a center part and a striated texture that continues down the back of the head. Each figure has closed eyes, multiple hoop earrings, and raised bands encircling the knees.
The male figure rests both hands on his knees, while the female figure crosses one arm at the chest with the other hand behind the hip. Dark manganese oxide deposits are scattered across the smooth, reddish brown, burnished surface of both figures. The undersides of each figure bear inventory or collection marks in black ink.
