This pair comprises a standing male figure in the Autlan style with a large headdress, serpent collar, bead necklace, incised crosshatch loincloth, and one arm raised, and a stooped elderly female figure with a tall ribbed headdress, hands raised to the face, and a long garment — two distinct character types that appear within the West Mexican shaft tomb tradition as records of social roles and individual identity. Both pieces come from the Maurice Yanez Collection of Pasadena.
