This low, flat Pomo coiled basket has a wide, disc-like form with gently rounded walls that curve inward to a narrow open top. A horizontal band of dark devil's claw patterning with reddish-brown accents runs at the lower body, sitting close to the base against the natural willow ground. The surface shows considerable age and use, with darkening to the interior and worn areas consistent with handling over time, and the basket retains an old metal tag numbered 38 and a paper label documenting prior collection history.
