A large stone figure fills the center of the sheet, photographed against a plain cream ground, the head squared and framed by heavy disc ear ornaments, a necklace of thick cylindrical beads falling across the chest above folded arms. Around it, drawn in the flat linear manner of Plains ledger art, ride and stride a dozen small figures in ocher, brown, and black, warriors on horseback with lances and shields, a standing figure in a rayed headdress, and pairs of men on foot carrying pipes and weapons. The lettering runs in heavy sans serif capitals across the head of the sheet and vertically down both edges, giving the museum, the Palais de Chaillot, and the Métro and bus routes serving it.
The poster advertises the opening of the new American hall at the Musée de l'Homme, which had itself opened at the Palais de Chaillot the previous year. It is signed Falck and dated 39 at the upper left, with a photographic credit to H. P. Herdeg beneath. The sheet has been laid down on a backing for support.
