The padlock has a round cast brass body in the flat pancake form, embossed Santa Fe across the front against a pebbled ground, with a long shackle above. It is a six lever mechanism and retains its original key, which turns and opens the lock. The brass has darkened to a deep brown surface, with wear to the high points of the lettering and to the shackle.
