This Seneca pipe is modelled in fired clay, the bowl rising at an angle from a long tapering stem and carved as an animal head that looks back toward the smoker. The head is worked with an open mouth, pierced eyes, and a pair of small upright ears, its surface smoothed and darkened with use. The stem runs straight to a rounded mouth end, and the clay carries a warm reddish brown patina throughout. It is intact and measures 4.75 inches long.
