This Southwestern necklace sets oval turquoise cabochons in roped silver bezels along the strand, with silver squash blossom drops between the stations. Much of the turquoise reads a clear green rather than blue, several stones carrying dark matrix across the face. A plain crescent naja hangs at the center front, set with a single green turquoise at the top.
The roped bezels frame each stone without further decoration, keeping the focus on the color and matrix of the turquoise. The naja descends from Moorish metalwork and entered Southwestern silver as both ornament and protective motif, here kept plain apart from its single stone. At 26 inches and just over 161 grams, the necklace has the weight and scale of a piece made to be worn for ceremony and display.
