The plate is oval in form, finished in a white tin glaze and painted entirely in blue. A border of scrolling foliage and ribbon motifs encircles the rim, framing a central medallion. Within the medallion, a wreath surrounds the IHS Christogram, topped with a cross and set above three nails, all rendered in blue linework.
The glaze is smooth and even across most of the surface, with a fine hairline crack visible running from the rim into the wreath design near the top. The reverse is not shown but the piece presents as structurally intact. The plate was previously in the collection of Valerie and John Arieta of London, United Kingdom.
