The cuff is formed from sheet silver rolled into a wide band, open at the back with a stepped and pierced fitting on the upper edge and a run of beaded wire along both rims. Four oval lapis cabochons are set flush in raised collets across the face, three visible on the front and one continuing round the side, spaced along a gilded ground of applied scrollwork in twisted wire. The gilding survives strongly in the recesses of the pattern and has worn back to the white metal across the raised borders, and the lapis runs from a deep even blue to a paler mottled stone with pyrite flecking.
