This photogravure by Edward S. Curtis depicts Tesuque Buffalo Dancers and was produced on Japanese vellum in 1925. The plate is identified as Plate 600, with the title printed at lower left and the Curtis copyright inscription printed at lower center. The lower right inscription records the photogravure printing by Suffolk Engraving Company of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The composition presents the dancers in formal ceremonial dress, with the architectural setting giving the scene a clear Pueblo context. The image belongs to Curtis's larger photographic and publication project documenting Native American communities in the early twentieth century.
