The basket is coiled in fine grass as a shallow round dish with low flaring walls, finished at the rim with a thick twisted rope of the same material worked in a rolling braid. Small blocks of red and dark brown dyed grass are stitched into the coils in loose scattered clusters, ranged in short arcs across the floor and repeated more sparsely around the walls rather than following a continuous band. The natural grass has aged to a pale even straw with the reds still bright against it, and the coiling is tight and regular from the center out with the rope rim complete around its full circumference.
