The slide is a thunderbird in channel inlay, the body reduced to a stack of triangles in white shell, black jet, and blue turquoise, with the wings swept up and out and each wing tip finished with a small silver drop. The head carries a pointed crest and a wedge of warm agate at the shoulder, and below the body a round turquoise sits at the base of a fan tail built from alternating white and black feathers, each one edged in silver and tipped with a raised silver bead. The braided dark leather cord ends in a pair of carved turquoise drops rather than metal tips, so the turquoise carries from the slide through to the ends.
